If we take the combustion pressure to be about 1000 psi, and the crankcase vacuum to be 10" Hg = 5 psi, are we to understand that an increase in differential pressure from 1000 to 1005 psi causes a dramatic decrease in blowby?

For me, only one reason could cause this high pressure : broken pistons or at least bad rings. An easy compression test on the front cylinders showed 120,112,105psi (dry) and 145,155,130psi (leak down) . The leak down test is done by puttin...

If either of these systems is clogged up you will get crankcase pressure and excessive oil leaks even with good seals and gaskets. The front side cover is an oil separator/flame trap which in time can clog up. Worn piston rings can also cause crankcase pressure which in turn causes oil leaks at gaskets and seals.

I have a s/c intercooled 98' OBDI M3 and there has been a lot of oil comming out of the crankcase vent tube that goes into the intake before the supercharger. What causes that? Too low a weight for oil? I am using 5W50 and its about 80 ... It seams like its getting really hot and high pressure in the crankcase vent.
