Dragonflies specialize in different kinds of hunting techniques. The larva stage is characterized by three basic strategies. Some stalk their prey in vegetation (climbers). Others lie in the mud and debris at the bottom of a pond and wait for prey (sprawlers).

I immediately went to Ask Jeeves to find out what it was that they were pursuing - and found this list. I would like to say that I could identify the type of dragonfly, but they moved so fast, it was rather difficult with my aging eyes to fasten on any one characteristic. ... and other things that bring contentment... ... Monday, March 30, 2009 ... Another crocheted bag, a birthday gift made in 24 hours because my daughter just knew her friend would love it. I dropped her to a sleepover party at 1pm on Saturday and when I picked her up 1 pm on Sunday I brought the gift with me.
