why is it that i read somewhere that if your cellphone gets water spilled on it, you should dip it in ... Ran across a Dell warrantee job where I was there to replace the video card. this was last fall. It was pretty damn obvious someone spilled something inside the laptop. *sniff...sniff* Definitely a wine of some sort.

I spilled pure water onto my Dell CSx laptop. The computer was on, I turned it upside down immediately and turned it off. I removed the battery too. I then took it apart, but left the motherboard in the bottom case, I put it up to a fan for three days.

I spilled a pretty large glass of water across my Dell Latitude D600 exactly a week ago. It was on and running at the time and turned off immediately on the contact of the water. Hi, I spilled a bit of water on my laptops keyboard. I'm not sure how much got in, wasn't soaking wet but a bit got in, but when it did, I turned off the laptop right away, and got a towel and hair dryer to try to dry it. ... Or give it more time? Oh, and it's a Dell Inspiron 1150 if that matters.

I have spilled water on my laptop keyboard(Lenovo Thinkpad Z60m), and attempted to dry it out and then the picture clouded over black. I dried it with a hairdryer a bit and rebooted it and now the picture is there but extremely faded, mostly black, yet the operations of the computer are all wroking fine.

interesting stories. I spilled dr pepper on my 7 year old laptop. first thing i did, remove the battery, next wipe up and drain any excess fluids, then i washed it under cold water at first to get rid of any sugary liquid.
