WHAT DO LOONS EAT? ... Loons will eat suckers, perch, minnows, bullheads, even crayfish and leeches but not seek out that "prize trout"... Loons will adapt to whatever the food supply. Keep in mind that they eat very different diets in the winter on the open ocean showing their varied appetite and ability to diversify.
