Here's a hexagon. Its sides are different lengths, so it's not the familiar regular hexagon shape of the honeycomb cell. But it's still a hexagon because it has six sides and six interior angles. If you add up all six of the interior angles, what will the sum be?

The interior angles of any polygon always add up to a constant value, which depends only on the number of sides. For example the interior angles of a pentagon always add up to 540° no matter if it regular or irregular, convex or concave, or what size and shape it is. ... A hexagon has 6 sides, so interior angles add up to 720°...

I read this question in a different way to the other answerer's. I assume you mean the outside angles, so here goes. A Pentagon has 5 sides and the internal angles are each 72 degrees therefore the outside angles are each 360 - 72 =288 degr...

We know from the formula that the interior angles of a hexagon add up to 720°. ... The interior angles are 120°, so the exterior angles are 180° - 120° = 60°. The exterior angles add up to 360°, so if we divide 360° by 60° we find there are 6 exterior angles. Therefore, there are 6 sides (it is a hexagon).
