I've said several times over recent days that it is an example of the president's moral cowardice that he has such a long record of having others savage his opponents -- for sins of which he is usually more guilty than they -- and then denying any responsibility for what's happening.

I'm not sure I see moral cowardice, apart from anything else that would imply W has morals to start with. What I see is naked opportunism, stupidity and nice dollop of malice on top. Moral cowardice would be knowing you ought to be doing the right thing and doing the wrong thing, this is not caring what right and wrong is.

More bluntly, it is moral cowardice exhibited by pathetic men and women who offer concessions at the expense of others. Appeasement is doing deals with men who have insatiable territorial appetites with the wish to impose their own brand of false theological practices and beliefs.
