I'm from kansas and the lakes around here are loaded with carp. What is the best bait or lure to catch them on? I also want to know if there is a way to catch grass carp. I've never seen one in the lake, but there are some bigger than 4 feet in some ponds in my area.

Hey. Ive seen these grass carp along the edge of a pond near my house. I hear they're fun to catch. Ive tried regular carp bait with no luck. Any suggestions on what kind ... By far the best bait that I have found for grass carp that you can see is a Jitterbug. Grass carp love cicadas which is what a jitterbug looks like.

This bait has to be the best I have seen for targeting grass carp; they go wild over the stuff. Now for hook baits, I prepare maize by soaking and boiling to soften the kernels. After it has cooled, I make up a small cup of the maize and pour some of the liquid molasses over it.

I have 26"grass carp I would like to mount .I cant find a body for it and Ive never carved one .Would a form of a different fish fit with a little alteration? Or should i try the fill method, and if so how is this done?Ive only mounted LMbass on forms any help will be helpfull,thanks.
