Since the beginning of January 2002 my husband and I have seen our lights flicker, sometimes staying out for 3 seconds than back on. My husband checked the circuits in the basement and all is well. What could be the problem? ... Two years ago in my own home, I noticed that ALL of the lights in the house were flickering.

Question about why fluorescent lights flicker when switch is off. ... Does your house show any other signs of being haunted? Just kidding. But to have fluorescent lights flicker when the power is OFF is quite weird. I have never heard of this problem, but there must be a logical explanation.

The lights in my house have suddenly began occasionally flickering. The house is a 1930s house that has had a few updates on the electical. We have the newer ... Turn the circuit off, go around and take stock of the lights that are on it. Make note of the lights on this circuit that don't flicker VS the ones that do.

Question got an old house (1891 with additions)..and the lights flicker when appliances come on..is this something I should be worried about? thanks. Answer; The only concern would be the age of the applianes that may be on related circuits.

It is fed via a 20amp 12ga 240v circuit....when the A/C kicks in the lights in the house do a noticable flicker...my question is if I upgrade that line to a 10ga 30amp breaker will that help things at all?...the breaker is the last one in the "chain" and it sits below the breakers for the lights etc...
