Unknown people can be heroes; everyone has someone they have to look up to for inspiration and a role model, that’s what makes someone a hero. When someone looks up to you for what you do or teach them then you are a hero.

What makes someone a hero? To me, a hero is someone that intentionally sacrifices their own personal gain for the betterment of others. The sacrifice is a critical component and regardless of the resulting betterment for others, without the sacrifice someone is not a hero.
