32 o F or 0 o C or 273.15 K Pressure has an effect on the freezing point (or melting point) of water, though it isn't as substantial as the effect of pressure on boiling point. We could say that these values are at standard pressure, but re...

For water, the liquid phase is denser than the solid. (Ice cubes float in water.) So squeezing ice will tend to melt it, even if its temperature is several degrees below freezing. This is why you can ice skate--the pressure under the blade melts the ... Water is a very weird substance in this regard; most substances freeze,

I assume you want to know if radiation, evaporation, and wind, etc., can contribute to the cooling of the water layer and/or the road surface, and that we are assuming there are ... Given those assumptions, there are some ways that ice can form on a road surface even if the measured air temperature is above 32 degrees F.
