The most volcanoes are found around the Pacific ocean, and this part of the world is called the "ring of fire". It is a ring of volcanoes going all around the Pacific, and included Hawaii.

The Hawaiian islands and the Hawaiian volcanoes are closest to the middle of the Ring of Fire. The reason for this is that there are plates crashing into each other, but they do not crash around Hawaii.
