Hydras live in quiet, fresh water ponds or streams. At the top of it's thin, star-like body is a mouth opening, used both to injest food and eject waste, surrounded by 4 or 25 tentacles bearing stinging cells. The hydra uses these cells to paralyze small marine creatures that it eats.;
