At my old apartment the landlord had a big dumpste ... I was just wondering, do people normally tip the garbage man at Christmas time? I never see them when they come around, I'm usually not at home, so would I just like tape an envelope to the top of one of the garbage bags if we are supposed to tip?

Since Miami has an ENORMOUS food service industry, I guess I should ask: are we really supposed to tip for takeout??? Why or why not? If so, how much? ... Me personally, I always tip, even with take-out. I normally would tip 20 to 30 percent in a restaurant and if it is pick-up, I will leave 10-15 percent tip.

You tip the carhop if the bring the food out to you unless you use the drive thru, or at least that is the most practical advice I can offer. ... if you tip 20 percent that is really nice gesture . for car hops I do same as I do the pizza delivery person 15 percent.
