i'm not even a white stripes fan but hey y'know it's rock n roll, a bit sloppy but a worthy performance in the rough n' raw sense, so give it a reat ... Jack White is overrated. The Bond song wasn't all that good. The Raconteurs are just another retro rock band. Many White Striipe songs just sound like other songs already...

To me they sound like a jazz-fusion band but their website describes the music as instrumental progressive rock. The album begins with "Almost Babylon"... this immediately reminded me of Niacin with a guitar player, a very funky tune with heavy parts and a cool jazzy break with a shredding guitar lead.

So anyway, at one of the 'battle of the bands' events I remember from high school, Mike (the bassist/singer) sang. It was the first time I'd heard him do so; the band had been through innumerable vocalists.
