I wrote the “part 2” of this song the same day he died, immediately when I got home from the hospital. I played the cedar flute at his funeral on a cold and windy day, right after the National Guard played “Taps.” He was a Vietnam War veteran, and I think this is what he would’ve wanted me to do with it.
