Dogs don’t lick people because they’re hoping for a hot meal. They lick because we’re their parents, or at least the head folks in the house. Even when dogs are old, gray, and grizzled, they see themselves in some ways as being our children, and a lick shows how much they respect us.

Can dogs lick TOO much ? Dog Breeds ... Is this a puppy? Ricky did the same thing when he was a puppy. Sort of like babies which we all know put everything in their mouth. I don't know but Ricky doesn't do it so much anymore. He does still lick affectionately though.

My darling little love of my life dog scratches and licks his hair into knots. He licks like a cat cleaning herself. . . . He ALSO generally vomits the moment he opens his eyes. There really isn't much mess but the gagging is terrible.
