Why Do They Hate Us ... Al-Qaida's nominal aspirations—the creation of a worldwide caliphate, the destruction of Israel, the banishing of foreigners from Islamic lands—are hardly mentioned in the book. It seems the president of the United States talks more about al-Qaida's goals than al-Qaida itself does.

The United States went to the UN several times and got several resolutions. Iraq would not comply. ... I'm not sure what your question really is but there are about 25,000 US troops in Afghanistan and another 20,000 or so NATO troops. We haven't left. I hear it's cause they hate our "freedom", ... Ultimately, the Taliban just wanted to force thier specific brand of Islam on everyone in Afghanistan, and Al Qaeda just wanted to purge the Kufar from Saudi Arabia, destroy Israel, and form a united Islamist Calisphate that would eventually conquer the world.
