Why don't water and oil mix together? I think that the answer would be "because separating from each other is thermodynamically more stable than mixing with each other". However, I cannot understand why this happens from the molecular interaction point of view?

Water is charged positively on the oxygen end, and negatively on the hydrogen end. Oil does not have a charge (it's neutral), so the oil does not mix with the water.

Oil is less dense and lighter than water. Because of this, oil floats on top of the water, and the water sinks.
