As for Jesus being called the Lamb of God, well that does not automatically have to mean that Jesus was going to be sacrificed just like a lamb is. It could have other meanings... ... So as we see, Jesus being called a lamb could be spiritual for having some of the characteristics and features of a lamb.

Jesus is called the Lamb of God because He is the perfect sacrifice of God--without blemish. Jesus never sinned and thus He is a worthy sacrifice for our sins. If we lay our hands on Him (symbolically) and confess our sins, then our sins will not only be covered but will be taken away.
