This was a result of the federal government in the mid-1980's threatening to withhold highway funding for states that didn't raise their drinking age to 21. It affected me greatly - I turned18 the month after the law was implemented & then had to wait until my senior year of college to imbibe.

If the drinking age is 21, then the laws should be changed for the military. No 18 is responsible enough to handle any pressure at 18, and since they can't, they start earlier and prove to everyone that they are too young to handle responsibility.

If they are raising the drinking age to 21 because of all the people who are under age and are drinking don't they realize people will still find more ways to get around the new law. I don't think raising the drinking age will make any difference in our society.
