Kees van Dongen images ... Kees (Cornelius) van Dongen, French painter of Dutch birth. He went to Paris in 1897, and his early works show an interest in Impressionism. He produced many nudes and society portraits, but he changed direction in 1906 when he saw Fauvist paintings in Paris, going on to exhibit with Die Brücke.
