Scottish Enlightenment philosopher and historian, Adam Ferguson is widely regarded as one of the founding fathers of sociology. Born in Perthshire, Scotland, Adam Ferguson was educated at St. Andrews and became a chaplain of the Black Watch Highlander regiment.
