I've talked to several people who think it's an allergy thing when their ears feel funny. Being dehydrated and dealing with lot's of humidity make me have a hard time breathing and do these same weird things to my ears.

Fluid inside ears every day! ENMT (Ears, Nose, Mouth and Throat) ... For the last few months my ears are constantly wet inside. Not dripping wet thank goodness, because that would be super disgisting, but so wet that when I put a finger in my ear it comes away with visible fluid. I can also feel the liquid in my ear canal.

I did have to stop and clear my ears once on descent after right ear wouldn't equalize. At the time it felt like water got in behind my eardrum. Still feels the same way, but I can equalize both ears on land now. Absolutely no pain or discomfort now or then, just an odd sensation like a cotton ball stuck in my ear.
